Melbourne, Australia, July 2009 - The first Hyatt Food and Wine Week to be held in
Melbourne will take place from 22nd to 30th August 2009. Hyatt Food & Wine Week is a
collaboration with Hyatt Hotels Australia to promote good food and great wine using only
the freshest local produce and experiencing the finest wines from our region. Local and
international chefs are profiled to bring you their culinary style and techniques giving you
a first hand experience.
Park Hyatt Melbourne will host the opening night on Saturday 22nd August, with a
delectable Hawker style fare with tastes of Italy, Asia, best of Australian Seafood and
decadent cheese and dessert in radii restaurant. Other events at Park Hyatt Melbourne
include an exclusive High Tea experience with Mumm Rose Champagne and Thomas
Schnetzler, Maitre Chocolatier, from Lindt Chocolate who will demonstrate art of
transforming the finest Swiss chocolate to mouth watering creations.
For the fine dining Master Chef Experience, two 5 course dinners will feature on Monday
24th and Wednesday 26th August, with renowned New Zealand chef Al Brown from New Zealand restaurant Logan Brown. Savour the tastes of Mandarin Cured Salmon with
Wasabi Custard; tender Duck Breast, Leg and Parfait with Pumpkin Flan and Cherry
Chutney; or even the succulence of Seared Scampi tails with Kaffir Lime Sauce and
Garamasala Potatoes just a few sample dishes matched with the finest Seresin wines
from Marlborough New Zealand. Whilst another New Zealand winery Oyster Bay is also
featured matching with dishes such as the winter warming Curried Crab Soup; Roasted
Groper Throat with Celeriac and Cappicolla; or Cervena Tenderloin with Roasted Garlic
Custard and Mulled wine Jelly; and the decadence of Sauternes Cream Caramel, with
Cognac Raisins. More delicious items are installed at these dinners, and of course the
luxury of speaking with the Al Brown directly as he talks intimately with guests over the
fine art of cuisine.
